At the National level they range from $14,000 to $18,000.A contestant must register with their American Legion Oratorical Zone Chairman by January 2, 2012 (see the last page of the program information sheets for your Zone Chairman). All Zone contests will be conducted before Monday, January 30, 2012 and the Department contest will be conducted on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
