Individual Membership Awards

The following constitutes the membership awards available to individuals, posts, and districts embarking on this year’s membership program.

Gold Brigade - 50 new members ($250.00)

Silver Brigade - 25 new members ($125.00)

Bronze Brigade - 15 new members ($75.00) and certificate

Any post that is 100% by December 31st of the current year will be invited to choose one Post Representative and a guest to attend the National Commander’s Dinner in Lansing as the Membership Director’s guest in February, 2008.

District Commanders’ Award

The Districts will be divided by size as follows:

1-2500 members

2501 – 4499 members

4500 plus members

The District Commanders having the most Post 225 transfers in each size category will have his or her room paid for the 2008 Department Convention in Grand Rapids
District Membership Trophies
Gary W. Sammons Trophy - District with highest percentage of current membership renewals compared with its previous years' membership renewals.

Wilson H. Morrison Trophy - District that first reaches its previous years' membership.

Larry Knox Trophy - District with highest percentage of current membership compared with it's previous years' membership

Effective January 1, 2007, post must submit $29.50 to headquarters for New and Renewing members.

The American Legion National Magazine will publish the names of Honorary Life Members reported on the Honorary Life Member Report Form, as long as it is accurately completed and signed by the Post Adjutant.

Do not include the names of Paid-Up-For-Life (PUFL) Members (PUFL).  This opportunity is limited to Honorary Life Members Only.
